“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20 NIV
Jesus tells us to GO.
Yet, in my life sometimes the “go” is the toughest part of the Great Commission. In a world where Christ is being pushed out of every arena, it can be a struggle to share Christ with those who have no interest in hearing.
The truth is, even Jesus and His disciples, experienced rejection and doubters along the way. Yet, with every persecution and trial, Jesus made it His mission to love and minister to the broken and offer them salvation. By simply sharing His message of love, Jesus drew great crowds in a magnetic way. I have come to learn that the best way to share Jesus is to allow His love to take the lead.
The greatest act of love is to share the greatest Love.
When we choose to be intentional about sharing God’s love, the “go” changes from a struggle to an adventure.
Thank you, Father, for entrusting me to share the message of the cross. Please help me to actively seek moments to be a vessel of love, hope, and peace to those I encounter. Forgive me for the times I have allowed shame or timidity to prevent me from sharing You. Let your love be my guide. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
When’s the last time you told someone that God loves them?
