When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul. – Psalm 94:19 ESV
Driving to work one day, I was brewing with emotion about some issues in my life. I had bills weighing on my mind, concern about a misunderstanding with a friend, and problems at work. The early morning sky was slate gray, and it matched my mood. I felt a nudge to play a song and worship. Honestly, I was annoyed even though this is the advice that I give to others when they are feeling down. However, I didn’t feel like dwelling in the valley, so I selected “I Do Worship” by John P. Kee, one of my favorite worship songs. I started singing, then worshiping, and before I know it I was comforted by the Spirit.
Like the author of today’s scripture, I can testify that God will comfort you when your worries become too much. I encourage you to recognize that His comfort is always available and accessible to us, regardless of the situation or the place that we find ourselves. Instead of focusing on our worries let’s choose to focus on God because matter what we are going through He is truly worthy to be praised.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your comforting presence. What a blessing to know that you care enough to always be close. I to find Your peace in my life today. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
How can you worship God today no matter what you are facing?
