For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. – John 3:17 ESV
When things aren’t going our way and we find ourselves struggling with our faith it’s easy to think God is mad at us. It’s then that God feels like this mean judge looking over our shoulder shaking His head in disappointment. The Bible, however, characterizes God completely differently. He desires holiness and justice, yes. At the same time, let’s not forget our God is also loving, kind, gentle, and patient. Although He has every right to, Jesus did not come to condemn but to save. He did not come to push us away but to draw us closer. When guilt washes over you I encourage you to remember why Christ came; to wash you clean of guilt and shower you with His everlasting love.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your love that lifts me out of the darkness and brings me to your glorious light. Thank you for your love, patience, and grace. In Jesus Christ Name I pray. Amen.
What’s one way Christ has shown His love to you today?
