Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. – Hebrews 12:2 ESV
As I think about all of the things that are trying to tug at our hearts and minds in this world Hebrews 12:2 reminds us that we must keep our eyes on Jesus. Everywhere we look today the focus is on self; be who you want to be, do what you want to do, take control of your life, you deserve it! But where is Christ in this?
We must not allow this world to drown out God’s voice saying “look to me”. John 17:16 reminds us we are not of this world. With everything in our life, we must look to Jesus for his will and his direction to live our lives according to his word. We must slow down long enough to be still and let God be God in our lives because we are not. We need Him to be the woman that He is calling us to be.
Dear Heavenly Father, please help us to look to you for all things. Please help us to be women that look to you throughout our day and depend on you for strength, courage, wisdom, and direction. May our eyes be on you always. In Jesus Christ Name I pray. Amen.
Has your focus been on God recently or have you been distracted by lesser things?
