And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. – Philippians 1: 6 ESV
Is there an area in your life where you struggle to change? Is it causing you to feel discouraged and defeated? Maybe you have a bad habit, a personality quirk, or a self-sabotaging behavior. As long as we are breathing, we will all have areas of weakness that are difficult to overcome. Although perpetual defeat in the same area can weigh us down, God offers us hope in His Word.
We can all cling to the truth found in Philippians 1:6. Here the Apostle Paul reminds us to confidently hold onto the promise that God will not only continue but finish the transformational work He has begun in us. God promises to perfect the work He started. Even though this may not be a present reality, we can trust in God who keeps His promises and know that one day He will complete the work begun in us.
Dear God, Help me to find encouragement in Your word. May I be confident in Your promise to complete the work You have started in me. In Jesus Christ’s name, I pray. Amen.
How are you encouraged by God’s promise to complete the work He started in you?
