What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? – Luke 15:4 ESV
I’m so thankful that He will leave the ninety-nine for me. We are all a priority to our Savior and because of it, He will stop at nothing to get our attention and save us, even from ourselves.
I love this depiction of having plenty of sheep yet being committed to the one who has strayed away. In a situation where others would be content having the majority with them, Jesus feels the responsibility to go after the one who walked away.
How wonderful it is to know that He will always look for us! He will never allow us to stray too far from His presence.
Whatever season of life you’re in, my prayer is that you will feel the comfort of His arms wrapped around you. I pray that even in moments where you drift or fall short, you will find your way back home to His loving arms.
Father, thank you for loving us so much that you will stop at nothing to get to our attention. I am so grateful for your unfailing love and that you will never leave us. Help us to seek more of your presence and to not depart from it.
Is there an area in your life where you have strayed from God? How might He be leading you to return to him?
