Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. – Isaiah 12:2 NIV
The fear in our lives has one goal: to discourage, paralyze, and destroy everything God has for us. We can’t let that happen. We won’t let that happen. We must stop listening to fear. We must fight fear with the truth.
I’ve learned four simple words to stop fear in its tracks every time. You may need to whisper them to yourself in your heart or proclaim them loudly throughout your home. Either way, fear won’t have a chance when you boldly proclaim these four words: “I trust you, Lord.”
If we boldly proclaim, “I trust you, Lord,” what can fear say? God is greater than fear. It’s time we put fear in its place. It’s time we stop listening to the lies of fear and let our fears know the truth: I trust you, Lord.
We have a choice. We can trust God, or we can entertain fear. But we simply can’t do both. I want to encourage you today to choose faith over fear. And if you need to remind yourself again, say these word with me: “I trust you, Lord.”
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your faithfulness which allows me to confidently place my faith in you. When fear arises, I pray for the courage to choose faith instead. In Jesus Christ’s name, I pray. Amen.
What is one area in your life where you can start choosing to have more faith?
